Apart from various projects, Shehab has worked with various organizations and corporate to enhance their publications. Now he is working as lecturer, in the College of Journalism and Mass Communication, Kathmandu , Nepal as an exchange participant funded by Fredskorpset , Norway . Photographs taken by him were used in Reports, Brochures, Calendars, Advertisements, and so on. With the expertise in Product and Model Photography, he has earned his reputation among various multinational organizations as well.
Having worked as a successful newspaper photographer for more than eight years, Shehab took the unusual step of giving up the security and the material comforts of a well paid job with many perks, to join Drik Picture Library a Photo agency, Dhaka, Bangladesh which would give him the freedom to practice his craft in the way he believes it should be practiced. In questioning the mainstream, he is taking the further risk of alienating himself from his immediate surroundings. This organization makes him confront the global issues and compels him to form a vision that would bring about changes in lives in this majority world. He believes that his visual imagination would one day be liberating with an active political participation of all the people of this world.
His images have been exhibited in Japan , India and at various locations in Bangladesh giving him the pride of being a very unique activist in the photojournalism arena. Images were published in both domestic and international publications. Large number of his work has also made its position in the online galleries of various websites. Shehab has won numerous awards in the field of photography and Journalism. WHO, ASAHI Shimbun, IIPC and some other organizations have appreciated his work through awards that he fully deserves.
Shehab is more comfortable working in areas that involve emotion and values. The work on Birds is a result of his passion – a passion that inspires him to struggle to achieve the best there can be. His future plan includes founding a Nature Photo Archive in Bangladesh . |
